FAQs AND TIPS

Visa on arrival

Once you arrive at the airport, you will have to pay for your visa. You don’t have to do anything in advance; you can do it there directly.
The cost of the visa is , and it's best if you have it in cash since sometimes the POS for credit cards doesn’t work.

Taxi to Paje
The normal price for a taxi from Stone Town airport to Paje is -40. It is best to arrange it in advance.
Here is a list of some taxi drivers that we have driven with this year (we don’t have a partnership with any of them).
You can reach out via WhatsApp. Let them know your time of arrival (calculate that it will take you around one hour from
when you land until you exit the airport) and your name.

By the way, there is free WiFi at the airport, so you will be able to communicate with your taxi driver.

Internet & SIM card

If you want to stay connected during your time in Zanzibar, the best way is to get a local SIM card. Ask around where you can get it;
they have it in local convenience stores.
The apps (like Airalo) for eSIM don’t work very well in Zanzibar, but if you can live with the fact that
you won’t always have working internet, it is also a convenient option.

Otherwise, you can find WiFi in most cafes, restaurants, and resorts along the beach in Paje.

Money Withdrawal

It’s advisable to carry some dollars with you if you anticipate paying for significant expenses such as accommodation or kitesurfing lessons.
For day-to-day expenses, it's preferable to use the local currency (Tanzanian shillings) to secure better prices.

Nonetheless, note that each ATM transaction incurs a fixed fee, so it's wise to withdraw the maximum amount allowable,
which is 400,000 TZS (approximately €150).

Tickets at the door

It is possible to get tickets at the door on the day of the event in case it is not sold out.
The price for WhyNot parties and the villa party is 20€ and for DarMar Chill&Grill the entrance fee is 10€.
